Website launched to bring transparency to Cap-and-Trade charges
January 10, 2017
Ontarians who are interested in finding out how much Ontario's Cap-and-Trade program is costing them in additional heating and gasoline charges now have an easy-to-use tool that can provide the missing transparency over these costs.
The website, www.capntradetransparency.com, developed by Energy Vantage Inc., has been launched as a public service to Ontarians.
It is regrettable that the Ontario Energy Board decided to bury these charges in the delivery line of the gas bills, despite its review of the overwhelming evidence that consumers want transparency over these costs.
Beyond transparency over the charges, the website also contains helpful information about Ontario's Cap-and-Trade plan, and ways in which consumers can reduce and use energy more wisely to reduce their overall energy costs.
