Consumer Alert - Some Téliphone Navigata Westel Communications customers may be disconnected
September 23, 2016
The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) is warning phone and Internet customers of Téliphone Navigata Westel Communications (TNW) that many of them may be disconnected as of November 21, 2016 due to a commercial dispute between TNW and TELUS Communications Company.
Affected customers may wish to explore alternative arrangements with another service provider. They can shop around for service providers using the CRTC's "Service Providers Near Me" tool.
The CRTC has ordered TNW to notify affected customers, including resellers of TNW's services. Furthermore, the company must work diligently to ensure a smooth transition for its customers to their new service provider.
- TNW provides Internet, phone and television services to customers across the country, but this Consumer Alert only concerns areas where TNW is providing services via its commercial arrangements with TELUS.
- Customers that have questions regarding the possible disconnection of their services should contact TNW.
- The CRTC has issued this Consumer Alert to ensure affected customers have time to shop around and explore alternative arrangements with another service provider before their services are disconnected.
